If you intend to use it to fly with, be careful. Our bassist wanted to save $$$ and bought one. The bass emerged out of the airline cargo hold with a cracked neck. I use a Calzone ATA rated case. This thing could be run over by a truck, and still protect my instrument. It's rock solid. You get what you pay for unfortunately.

I have one that came with a used Les Paul I bought. It hasn't been thrown around, but it has held up fine for me. One caution, and this goes for any case with a foam interior, don't let that foam sit against your guitar. Get some felt and make a sleeping bag for your guitar. That foam can hose up the finish of your guitar.
I haven't been able to find my model anywhere online. Most seem to be a full rectangle shape. Mine tapers on one side.

I looked at the rockcase and didn't think it was much of a "flightcase", but it is a good heavy duty road trip slam it around case.

There's no substitute for a real Anvil or Calzone ATA flight case.

flying with case

But what about weight? I have a rockcase, and I fly with it, and it does just fine. I totally agree that it's a little bit cheap, and I don't have complete faith in it, but with my PRS inside, it weighs a little under 40 lbs. It seems to me a true anvil heavy duty would be WAY over the 50 lb airline weight restriction. Not to mention the fact that I wouldn't want to carry it around.

Look, even in an anvil, anything can happen. The airline could just lose the damn thing. So in the end, I got a rockcase that'll probably do the job just fine, and then got lots of instrument insurance. Then I don't have to carry 70lbs of guitar around, and I don't have to worry about it. Sure, I'd be bummed if my '86 PRS got broken, but that's part of the deal if you're flying to gigs. If you can't live with that, then get a travel guitar that won't break your heart if it comes to a violent end...
My two cents.
