I'm looking for that old wooden Billy Gibbons sounding fuzz through a tweed deluxe. Many fuzz boxes are too boxey, thin, compressed, and buzzy.
Any suggestions for a hollow and wooden sounding fuzz in a smaller size? I'd love it if I could get an MXR-sized box on this pedal..

depends on what you consider 'hollow and wooden' but Tone Factor Huckleberry seems like an option.Get it 'til it ain't discontinued!

I'm not familiar with Billy Gibbons' gear, but the Analogman Sunface NKT 275 is as far from thin, boxy, buzzy and compressed as any fuzz I've ever heard.

The Analogman was the one most of my friend's suggested. Not sure which of the versions is the best, though.. The more touch-sensitive, the better. By hollow, I tend to like flatter mids, with a good low-end push on the higher notes. By wooden, I mean sort of a Castles Made of Sand sort of tone when rolled back.

Doesn't Gibbons use about 6 or 7 Expandoras?

I checked out their clips and it sounds a bit more like the newer ZZ tone vs. the old. I think it's the vintage tone I'm after, but the pedal did sound great for higher gain. Has anyone used one of these for low to med gain, or high gain w/ volume rolled back?

Has anyone used any of the Analogman Sunface fuzzes with tweed amps?
