Check out this guitar deal

So, I had 15 minutes to kill before meeting my family for dinner so I stopped by our local guitar store (not a GC). They got a whole batch of new Fender's in, etc., etc. Of course, my watchful eye spots a Les Paul Studio Mahogany Cherry hanging in the corner, not for sale.

It's the manager's LP he bought from their dealer, the special Musician's Friend LP Studio that they offered. He bought on a whim because he got a good deal on it. He spent a little over $600 for it including authentic Gibson case, with the new white fur inside. Not the older gray/black stuff.

So, he asks me if I want to buy it because he has two other LP's and doesn't need a third. I said I can't afford it right now, going to trade/sell my Tele, etc. He says he's looking for a decent Tele and asks if I still have the one I bought from him 2 years ago. Yup, that's the one, 2005 Highway 1 Sunburst.

Straight from his mouth, I quote, "How about an even trade? My LP Studio for your Tele?" HOLY SHIT! Are you kidding me? My Tele has a gig bag and the LP has the hardshell case. "Nope, not kidding."

So, I speed like hell to get home after dinner, grab the Tele and gig bag, race back to the store and he hands me the LP in the doorway, as they were closing up. "Enjoy the deal of the year." I ran for my car with LP in hand

It has Burstbucker Pros, yada, yada....the real deal. Here's the guitar I got for my 2005 Highway 1 Tele:

My Tele is maybe worth $400-450 on a good day, if not less. Not bad, huh? I've been buying gear from him over the past 5+ years. Pays to be loyal.

I'm absolutely thrilled. I've always wanted an LP with Burstbuckers. Tele just sat in my case. I gig with my Ibanez and Agile AL-3000. I'm guessing my Agile will be getting less use

Major GAS relief, Howie!

Wait, your last Tone Press offer was $0.12....inflation? Supply & demand? I think I'll keep it

Oh, yeah...I was fully aware of that but for a guitar I rarely use to a Les Paul I will play at every gig/practice, I'm all over it.

I was going to trade my Tele in on a Fender Lite Ash Strat but the LP is better fit for what I need right now.

The Lite Ash Strat would have been much better for those Robin Trower cover tunes your band does...
