Maxon 9-Series

Does anyone else dig these?

I've recently shuffled some gear around, and ended up with more or less all of the 9-Series pedals on my board (other than the distortion), and I'm getting a real kick out of them. Especially the OD-9, CP-9 and PT-9 (Pro+ versions of those pedals).

I don't hear much about them on here...

The maxon pedals are very expensive for what they are - slightly upgraded versions of the ibanez pedals. While they sound great, most of them are in the $300 range where there are other more useful options.

So; they sound great, they cost $2-300... Sounds like perfect TGP fodder! I'm confused.

...but the new Maxon 9 series are not made on the same production line as the Ibanez line anymore..."true bypassing" and better chips (in the case of the delay). Does the Ibanez line have a "+" series?... think the internal 18v switching on the OD9+ is pretty trick...if you're patient deals can be found...

I have the OD-9 and SD-9. They're both excellent for what they do. I am particularly fond of the SD-9.

The the maxon ph-350 has been on my board for the last 3 yrs, but the maxon pt999 is my least favourite phaser ever...

I'm happy with the PT-9 Pro+, I found a new one on eBay for $209. Very easy to dial in, but also very tweakable.

Yes deals can be had and I have found all of the 9 series from Maxon to be excellent. The AD9 is somewhat expensive compared to other delays, but the the FL9 is a major league flanger, great tones in it. The CP9 Pro is an excellent compressor also.

Maxon OD-9 and AD-9

I got OD-9 overdrive and it kills Ibanez TS-9 RI. The Maxon are true bypass and the tone is excellent with my gear. Tha AD-9 is a fabulous analog delay. Great pedals.

I have the delay and the flanger. Both sound great. What I don't like is that the way the switch acts. Rather than flip the switch when you step on the switch, they flip when you step AND release. So they're not so much stomp boxes, as step-and-release boxes.

But I run both of mine in my "lead loop" so I never have to deal with the switch in mid-song. The switch on the looper is all I deal with while actually playing.

...I have 5 Maxon boxes, three 9 series (AF-9 / FL-9 / SD-9) & two vintage series (PH-350 & CS-550)...they're all great pedals...in addition, they also represent some of the very top value pedals available...don't get me wrong, I like booteek pedals too, but to me, Maxon really doesn't take a back seat to anyone...

Just picked up an AD-9 in a trade.
Do all of the Nine Series pedals run
on 200 mA power?
I assume so, as that's what the recommended
power adaptor supplies, but wanted to make sure-
frying pedals is NOT my favorite pasttime.

Thanks for the help.
