Quick tube replacement help needed...
I've heard several times that a "postless" power tube is fine to use. I have a brand new set of matched tubes that I busted the center ("guide") post off of. My problem is that the way my amp is designed, it is impossible to see how I'm putting the tube in without spending a hour removing the chassis. Does it matter which pins go in which holes? If it doesn't, that saves me a lot of hassle.

Yes a tube with missing center post will work fine , but only if you get the right pins in the right sockets. It matters a lot .

Yep. Probably better just to replace the tube unless you want to pull the chassis.

If it is a valued tube you can buy a replacement center post! Go to tube accessesories to adapters...You will still need to correctly orient the adapter though.
