Heritage H-535 - Holy cow

Just got it the other day. I've owned all kinds of high end stuff. PRSi, Les Pauls, ES-335s, SGs, G&Ls, Strats, Teles, even a Veleno. This thing smokes them all. I honestly didn't expect it to be as nice as a 335, but it's in another league.

Maybe it's because of the thinner body, but it starts to resonate sooner than a 335. Plugged into the cranked bassman channel of my Supersonic with an MJM Blues Devil it nails classic Allman Brothers tone. Dicky Betts would be very happy to play it. Stays pretty clean with the volume at 5 or under, then crank it and the body starts vibrating and harmonics and overtones just leap out at you. Doesn't even take a whole lot of distortion or volume to do it. It's so much fun. You hit a note and hold it then just bump the volume a little and it blooms into this huge fat harmonic thing that you just never want to let go of. There are other guitars that will do that too, but none as easily or that sound as good as this.

No particular point to this thread. Just felt like sharing.

Very nice. I looked at one of those last year and I was impressed, too. Congrats!

Congrats. I've had mine for about 6 years and I just dropped some Lollar Imperials in there and now it's officially the buisness.

Pics?

This just has the stock pickups. They call them "Golden Era". I assume they're Schallers. I was expecting to want to replace them, but I'm not touching anything.

I just bought one also and can not put it down! It has some great flame also on the top and a very comfortable neck~ Maybe I can post some pics of it after my 30 day wait due to being a newcomer...

Thumbs up

Yep, the 535 is killer guitar. I highly recomend Duncan Seth Lovers for replacement pickups - they sound killer in a semi-hollow.

I have been looking around for a clean used ES335 because new one are too friggin much money. Maybe I should start looking into the Heritage, they are certainly more reasonably priced.

Beautiful (although I'm partial to natural). You are definitely correct about the Heritage being in another league. Congrats!!

Bummer about the wait. The neck on mine isn't too bad. I like a fat neck too. This is medium sized. A little bigger than a Gibson 60s.

I've been skeptical that it would measure up to the 335. It's everything I hoped it would be. Unless you want the name on the headstock, a 535 should scratch that itch.

Thats a sweet 535. Congrats! I've been on the Heritage bandwagon for a while now and own 3 of them, but no 535 (yet). Glad to see I'm not riding that wagon alone.
Enjoy it!

I like that color! Is that a solid red or is it transparent? Nice and tastey either way!
