Depends on how much money and whether they used the EV cones for the recone. The EV cones were available so they should have used them. I have heard a pair years ago in a Fender Twin I think there are better speakers then EVM12Ls for Fender tones but only you can be the judge of that. They are seriously loud and they don't break up at all.

EV speakers are not like broken in sweet Celestion greenbacks or something. They are a very hi-fi sort of speaker. I have used both reconed and original cone EVs and never hear a difference. There is a typical wear in period, but its not that drastic and happens fast. But they sound just as good as original.

I can't speak to the 12l's but I use the old EV/SRO's in my bandmaster cab. Very clean, no breakup. it really just lets the amp be the amp.

I love em.

This description works for the 12L's as well. Great sounding speakers!

Decent price. reconed EVs tend to go for roughly $125 so I think you would do OK buying them.

I think EV speakers don't get the credit they deserve. I dont think Dumble or Mesa would be what they are today without EV speakers...
