Shane, in the mid 80s, my first wife died, and I was left with 4 kids aged between 6 years and 13 years. I accepted a number of offers of help, but turned down others that, in retrospect, I should have accepted. At the time, I didn't realize the ongoing needs that would arise.

Even though I have been a bit slow with my donation, It is a privelege for me to be able to help. When I knew that I had survived my heart surgery 6 weeks ago, I made a vow that I would try to help other folks who were less financially or emotionally fortunate than I was.

The support that I received from TGP was not financial, because financial support wasn't necessary. I was lucky that bizzare Australian political point-scoring a number of years ago provided me with medical insurance that I never thought I'd have. The encouragement and emotional support that I received from TGP members provided strength that helped me prepare for the operation and helped me survive, and that is priceless.

In your case, we have tried to provide financial support, but you will find, as time goes on, that the group support that you have received is worth more than all our money donations.

You have dealt with one of a parents greatest challenges. You are the hero.

Peter.

My son is my hero, I cannot believe how good he is doing after having a surgery like this. Peter, I did not know that your surgery was with your heart. Congradulations on a successful surgery. And yes, I am only living in the here and now, and the ongoing bills and and such are going to be a finacial nightmare. Peter, your words are uplifting, and I cannot say thank you enough.

Shane

Auction was won by Mojoman with a winning bid of $115. I received the PayPal, grossed it up to $120 to cover fees and sent it off to Shane. Thanks to all those who bid and to Mojoman for the winning bid. :BEER

2 1/2 days left on the RiffRack guitar shelf:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290112509897

The pic in the ad doesn't show the full "functional beauty" of this piece (the RiffRack guy and I discussed that so I can say it here) I'm sure whoever gets it will be happy... again, RiffRack donated the product and shipping and I'm taking care of Ebay and Paypal fees. Shane and fam get 100% of final auction price....

Mosfet Classic auction

Finally, I've managed to get some sound clips on my website and list the Mosfet Classic on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220111101420

I've offered to cover postage and insurance if the bid exceeds $150.

Many thanks to family friend Paul for the clips at short notice. There's a link to them on the eBay listing, and I'll post a link in the manufacturers and dealers section in the next 24 hours.

The listing says that I will ship to the USA, and I couldn't figure out how to add other countries. If anyone from any other country is interested, please contact me through TGP. The PCB is not ROHS compliant, so I cannot sell to EU countries. The next batch of PCBs will be compliant.

Shane, I hope Silas is still doing well. Apart from the odd backward step, I'm steadily improving and loving life more every day.

Peter.

Sorry, I was going to bid on the Riff Rack, but forgot about it. Are you going to re-list?
