When I see this type of finish, Vaughn, I always think, well, do they have a hold up in their finishing Dept.?

Best, Pete.

I like the finish, but I can't see shelling out that sort of coin for the guitar.

Looks cool. Reminds me of Bonnie Raitt.

Also the Saga kit guitar me and my buddy put together when we were kids.

That's looks so much like my '61, only shinier, minus the dirt and sweat marks. It came to me with no body finish, and by now, I'm totally used to it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I'd never lay out that much cash for an oil finish. I've done it myself and believe me, it's a no brainer. I have a totally beat tele body here in the closet with a tongue oil finish that I may put back together. It's fugly but resonates like crazy.

I am not sure how the oil finishes are, I have never experienced one. Does the wood have an oil type feel to it, that may rub off on your skin? Is there special to take when having one of these finishes on your guitar? I do think they are over priced and the Music Zoo has never come close to having me purchase from them, because they don't seem to give a bit on their price with me. That is why I buy from MakenMusic and Drumcity/guitarland.:RoCkIn

It looks identical to my Warmoth Frankenstrat. Great guitar and I love the no frills look.........but I don't dig that High frills price.

That reminds me of so many guitars from the 70s where guys stripped Fenders for the "natural" look. No telling how many custom color guitars were lost during that era.

Oiled finishes feel like unfinished wood, nice and smooooooth. It won't rub off or anything either. I don't actually own an oiled finished guitar but I've played a few with oiled necks and I think they feel great.
