Best Tortoise Shell Pickguard for a Precision?

I'd like to enhance the image of my '06 American P-Bass. It's sunburst with a rosewood fretboard. Who makes the best 'vintage style' tortoise shell pickguard? The modern Fender ones don't have that swirly cool color like the old school basses from the early 60s...

I'd prefer something without the extra thumbrest and pickup cover holes. It would be nice if it had a rout to facilitate easy trussrod adjustment.

The p.g. on my ' 61 P-bass was seriously shrunken and threatening to crack at the screw holes. I bought a "'62 P-bass" replacement guard from Fender and it's not that far off. Just de-glossed it a bit with ultra-fine steel wool.

after years of fender selling boring, dark-brown barely visible tortoise shell guards for their stuff, they recently switched to a vibrant, swirly tortoise pattern full of yellows and even a little red. i grabbed one for my red 90's am std p-bass, and it's quite lovely. unfortunately, the newest batch of pickguards i've seen is back to the dim, dark brown color. if you can find a recent fender pickguard of the bolder variety, grab it, because, color aside, its fit and quality is better than just about any aftermarket brand i've seen.

i've been checking em out at Allparts and Warmouth. They're both cheaper than the Fender ones, but everyone's definition of "tortiose shell" is different.

The best, handsdown, is from Chandler pickguards. The Fender, Allparts, and Warmoth stuff looks cheap to my eyes. Check them out, I think they are made to order and worth it:

I have been researching this material for years now. Check out our research over here. Its more than enough info. Im even making my own tort now vintage correct. Testing continues.
