Heritage Guitars

I just checked out this killer flame top Heritage H 150 Les Paul style guitar that just rocks. The problem I have is the guy wants 1500.+ for the guitar.
I have never seen a flame as nice as this one before I will try and get a photo for the GP. Any way I am having a hard time with the price knowing the resale on these guitars is just not what they should be. Some one help me out here. Why get a guitar that has no resale value and why don't the Heritage guitars go for more $$$$? I am just trying to understand why they don't have a great resale. Thanks to all that help me out here

I have a cherryburst 157 from 99 and it is a great guitar. I think 1500 is high, that is perhaps the price of a new one. Check Wolfe Guitars out for new prices, they are the largest Heritage dealer.

I have a Heritage 150 Les Paul. It is a great guitar. I have Gibson L.P.s too, and the Heritage is every bit as good, if not better.

I bought it for about $950 a few years ago. Used prices seem to be from $900 to $1100 depending on age, features and condition. I agree with Chazmania about the price..I would not pay $1500 for a used one.. You can go new for that price.

I understand that some people would rather not base a decision on resale, but I could not justify my huge assorted guitar collection if I took that approach. A great guitar is wonderful...but, it still makes sense to buy it at the right market price. It is much easier to justify an excessive guitar habit if you know that you can get your money out of it in the future----even if it is for trading value towards some other great axe. Maybe I am too practical, but I still think about where I put my money, even if it is a guitar.

Not sure what the above post means about Heritage being a collector's item. They are still alive and well, building new guitars every day. They are a collector's item for those that might collect them, but they are not sought after like a true vintage guitar...at least not yet.

Heritage guitars have poor resale, but they do have their devotees.I personally,am friends with Jay Wolfe, and will always tell anyone who is wanting a new Heritage,to contact him here in Florida.I am not a fan of Heritage H150's,I think that if you can get one for 700-800 bucks,it's a decent guitar-but it is not a Gibson Les Paul.
