Fulltone OCD
Ok so i've been doing a lot of searching, and finally today I got to play a good bit of pedals that i've been looking into. Fulltone OCD hands down is my favorite pedal. Tried to Box of Rock, Fulldrive II, Keeley TS9 and 808resissue - OCD sounded the best - especially with the Keeley Comp.
next on purchase: OCD Keeley Comp.

I have a ver 3 and with certain amps it kills. I use it with a AC30 and a /13 SJT 10/20. With other amps not so good.

You ever had a significant volume drop when using it with any amps? Some of my amps I have to set it's volume around 3:00 and others 9:00!

This is my thought on that. I had the OCD just ahead of a low Z volume pedal and I had to crank it to get it to unity. I though something was wrong as I did the ver 3 upgrade, maybe I damaged it when soldering it up? I was experimenting around and tried a TS9 after the OCD (!!!) the volume was smoking! The buffer in the TS9 made the OCD work and sound better (with the TS9 off). So I redid my board and put a TC chorus after the OCD and before the low Z volume, all is well now.
Long story short, I feel the OCD is sensitive to impedance in the chain far more than other pedals so I'm not surprised the impedance at the input of the amp effects it as well. |

OCD works best for me on brighter Fender circuits ... I think the frequencies it boosts are not present (much) in my Marshall-type circuits ... because it does not boost the volume much at all on those. But it is still my favorite overdrive ...

Anyone try a OCD V1,2 or 3 with a Stock Fender Hotrod Deville 4X10?

i was looking at getting one of those... im still on my quest for certain tones and have sold of a few pedals already, looking at the ocd next
what i want it to accomplish is rough gritty yet full of presence power chords, intend to use it for my rhythm work.... an eg of what i would want to achieve is the rhythm tones on civil war by gnr do u think the ocd can do that well? most pedals i tried sound a tad to smooth for it, and doest have enuff bite and grit |

I was hanging with Jujo (a TGPer) last night playing my Klon and RC Booster and his BJF Dyna Red and OCD. He had thoughts about getting a Klon and wanted to try mine out.
Anyway, I put his OCD through my Guytron GT-20 (he also has a GT-20)and it was easilly the most smoking combination of the night. I was getting endless sustain which would blossom into feedback and harmonics. It might have been the best sound I ever got out of my amp with a pedal. Hey Jujo!, where are you, I need a witness. If I didn't have a Eternity on order I'd get an OCD tomorrow.

I use the V1 with a Deville 2x12 and sometimes an external 4x12. The OCD really sounds great with it. Highly recommend! But, to me, this is definately a kick ass rhythm pedal moreso than a lead one, with some major Cars flavor. I like it so much, but I'm still curious about the V3. I think it would be better for leads, but I don't want to lose that great rhythm sound. Any experiences with these 2 for leads vs. rhythm on a fender tonestack?

I just got my OCD today and the serial number is in the 11,000's so it is a V 3.
I'm finding the opposite of many of you. Unity on my Tweed Princeton was at about 9:30 and on my Mark 4 clean channel about 10:00. brianf

I have a v.1 OCD and it kills for a tranparent amplike chimey rhythm tone.
I have borrowed a friends v.2 and it seems better voiced for leads and I would think v.3 is even more of a lead voiced pedal. Maybe I can get a hold of a v.3 and compare all three version at one time.
