I have been thinking lately about guitar icons and their being associated with one guitar, at least for a while - Clapton w/Blackie is one (though he obviously has had others as well), Peter Green and his LP. You get the idea.
I have been tossing around the idea of selling off all but one guitar and focusing on playing and song writing instead of collecting different guitars. :NUTS So.......anybody got just one?

I had one guitar (my grosh retroclassic) for maybe 7-8 yrs. I recently picked up a cheap 335 style guitar just to mix things up but still play the grosh mainly. I have LP gas, but if I went through the rest of my life with only the grosh (say I give my as73 to my kid one day) that would be just fine. get one killer axe and focus on the music man.

No but I've given it some serious thought lately. I just don't know which one I'd keep and which ones would go. I have an ASAT Classic Custom Semi-Hollow, a butterscotch parts tele, a '66 Fender Music Master II and another parts tele that's almost finished. I'm also thinking of building a couple more tele's. Oh, yeah, there's a parts strat in the works too.
The thing is, I only play a few hours a week, so I really only need one guitar. I could sell them off. I've done it before but I keep ending up with 6 or 7 laying around. I do have just one amp, though.

I kinda' wish I did sometimes. There were a few years where I just had my Tom Anderson Grand Am Lam and it was actually just fine to have just that one guitar.
Having lots of guitars around helps keep me pretty inspired to pick up something and play, so that's always good too. |

I'm getting close. Been keeping two electrics, one acoustic and one amp within a self imposed four guitar, two amp limit. This is a big improvement and I'm enjoying playing so much more instead of collecting. :RoCkIn :AOK

I only have one guitar.
I would eventually like to get a strat, a semi, a tele and a good classical acoustic. Other than that, I really have no need or want for anything else.

Most of my 40 years plus of playing I only had one, and sometimes none when I was a kid. Now? No way. I am happy collecting guitars I love to play. And they are all different, even when they are the same models.

I only have one guitar that can be consistently intonated and tuned. Is that the same thing?
