NOS in the Soultone JTM 45

I just tried a NOS tube mix in my Soultone 45 put a NOS GE 6v6 in and a NOS GE 5881 and biased them and Man what a Killer tube tone,I get the 5881 Cleans and the crispy Marshally tone from the 6v6 and when they mix in it just sounds very nice sustains,And when played loud it keeps the great sustain and you can just grab and hold a note till you are ready to move.
It works nice with the Power scale.

Sweet! Looking forward to trying out tube combos when I get mine in a couple months. I've done that before with my THD Bivalve and had alot of fun with it there too. You're right, you can get a mix of both worlds and oddly enough it works well.

Val, I have one inbound today. Been scooping up tubes everywhere. I'll be spending the next month trying tubes and tube combos. Mickey's been super and very accomodating. Can't wait to plug in.

Now I'm dealing with GAS over one of Sean's OLDworld E or T type guitars, gotta get with Eric-D about his when he receives it. I believe they'd make a great "birthday to me" present later this summer.

Ricky: You will find that spending a month is what it takes,I have a lot of great NOS tubes but a lot of them are not matched,so the soultone bias scheam works perfect for that,I am going to gig with the 6v6,5881 combo tonight so I will get a good feel for how they sound live.:RoCkIn
