Who switched from OCD v.1 or 2 to v.3.....

and are you happy with the changes? I still have my v.1 but of course this forum always makes you want something you don't have. So I am wondering, for those who have switched from v.1 to either 2 or 3, are you happy with the change or do you wish you had left well enough alone and stuck with the original version?

I too am curious to hear from anyone out there about this subject. There are only a couple of OD's that inerest me that I have yet to try, and the OCD is one of them. It would be nice to avoid having to buy 3 of them....

I liked version 1 too much to switch it out, so I just bought a version 3 also. They sit next to each other on my board. They are different enough to justify having both IMO. To me, version 1 is more transparent. Version 3 has a little more mids, and is a little thicker/darker sounding.
I like them both. Would'nt want to give up one for the other.

I got to try my friend's V.3 next to my V.2 the other day and it is the same with V.2 to V.3....3 has more mids and darker sound where I think my version 2 sounds more like a good old regular OD amp !

I've had all 3, I use ver 3 I think the low end is tighter and the fact that the tone control is much more subtle I can dial in the top end a lot easier and the mids seem just right to me.....very versatile pedal!

I was afraid of these answers! Looks like I will buy a v.3 and take some time comparing it with my v.1. I just don't have enough room on my already overcrowded board so whichever one doesn't make the cut I can always sell for close to what I paid. (Close enough to where I won't EVER have to worry about this nagging question anymore!!!

Once again, thanks to all who responded. TGP rules!!

I had a v1 that I modded to V2 and then to v3 so it's been through it all. I really thought V2 was a big improvement. A little less bassy and sizzly on the top but still very open and uncompressed. I like V3 quite a bit too, although it's a little more compressed and smoother sounding. I kind of miss the raunchiness of the first 2 versions, especially V2, but I'm perfectly happy with v3.

I had V1, never had a V2. V3 is just killer! I'm a big fan of the Timmy for low gain bluesy stuff and have been searching for another box with the same kind of transparency but just a bit more gain. I've gone through a LOT of OD's and the new OCD seems to be just the ticket. Not at all shrill like the V1 but a nice creamy push in the LP setting and the perfect compliment to the Timmy for the stuff I do. So far, it's got me pretty impressed.
