Just "pulled the trigger"/sprung for/bought/purchased...

...an Epiphone '56 Les Paul Goldtop. And I have a Lollar soapbar P-90 neck pu on the way. I already have a Lollar bridge P-90 for it. I'll probably change all the electronics and tuners too. What tuners do you recommend for it?
I'm anxious to hear it through my Vicky Pro with Weber P15N (15A150) and my 40 watt Allen Encore head with 4x10" cab. I really wanted a Gibson '54 Les Paul Historic but that's a little rich for me right now. Besides, I'm saving for another USACG Tele and a Louis Electric KR-12, and maybe a Vero Chicago Zephyr in the far future (never hurts to have goals). I don't have GAS though. Really, I don't. Really. Ahem...

I bought one of these for a nephew last Xmas-it came with chrome Grover Rotomatics. They work great, I'd recommend them. I also have the rotomatics on my 91 LP Classic, 77 LP Artisan, and 77 Greco LP. Theyr'e great!

Kluson tone pro tuners. Worked great for my LP. You my have to have a tech put them in though.

There are Grovers, and then there are the new Chinese Grovers. They look kind of the same. They work totally differently. Be careful of the "book by its cover" thing and be a smart shopper. Or just play them 'til they die (soon) and replace them with some NOS US-made Grovers if you can find them. The Goldtop, on the other hand, is a great guitar and worth upgrading! Enjoy!-Eric

You have real nice taste in gear, there, j-blues---I had 3 of those '56 Epi's, and 1 Dillion Goldtop copy, all at different times---then I made the huge mistake of playing a 56' Gibson RI---do NOT do that, unless you have a full wallet---needless to say, I saved up over time, sold the Epi's and such (The Dillion really did NOT cut it---the Epi's were a great compromise---) and have the Gibson now---JMHO!
