What do you want to do?

I guess I like to have an idea of why I'd be doing something. I mean, if you heard a dude's bass, it sounded awesome, and he had "Sparkle-O-Matic" pickups and electronics- and you get the idea to try out that stuff... If your tuners aren't moving smooth enough... replace them... if you're going out of tune- try a Graph Tech nut...

Replacing something for the sake of replacing it... Not my sort of thing, I guess.

OR are you building a "Jazz Bass" from scratch like I am?
So far I've purchased a Warmoth Goncallo Alves Jazz neck and am considering what body wood and hardware, pickups, etc.
I may grab a finished Warmoth G-bass body and go with those little individual bridge pieces that Hipshot has on the Warmoth site, OR maybe a Black Korina unfinished J=bass body and oil it myself.
Pickups? Perhaps Lollar Jazz bass or Duncan 1/4 pounders.
Tuners? Hipshot light weight I think.
Any opinions?
