Clark Lil' Bit Ltd.

What's the advantage of getting this Clark model over the regular Beaufort?

I know one owner but forgot to ask him last time I saw him! It appears to be a weird mix of the Champ and Deluxe; please explain to me.

Many thanks, Pete.

I believe the Lil Bit Ltd is based on a tweed Champ circuit (5 watts class A), but with a bigger speaker (12" Celestion Blue)

the Beaufort is based on a tweed deluxe circuit (12-15 watts, class AB[?])

edit...my wattage ratings are a bit off.

see here for more info !

ps...glad to see the lil bit is available again

It appears to be a double single ended amp - I'm no tech It's got the same valve complement as a Deluxe.

Where's Jae when you need him? I'd like to know what it sounds like compared to a Champ and a Deluxe i.e. what the point of it is, heh, heh.

If I put as used by Paris Hilton/Tim/Timmy/Klon/ in the title I might have got more replies.......

Thanks for taking the time, A440!

Best, Pete.

I think it's a Deluxe pre-amp section with a Champ power section. The Beaufort is is two to three times the wattage of the Lil' Bit Ltd.

I'd like to try one someday.

That's what I thought until it reappeared on Clark's website - but it has two 6v6's. "Configured single ended but with two 6v6's" is what it says.
Wanted a ballpark idea as to how this sounded.

Thanks, Pete.

My Clark Lil' Bit LTD is a tweed deluxe w/ a champ's power output. It has a 12in weber12a150w and two 6v6. There are two transformers so it allows 10watts w/ 2 6v6s and 5watts with one. Great tone and even at 5watts real loud so get the attenuator.

Call Bob at the Perfect Note. He is great about answering questions and customer service!

Many thanks, sounds most useful. Does it do that "Tres Hombres" vibe?
I like loud - can it compete with a moderate drummer on jams - I'm worried it will not be loud enough? If I take it, it'll be with a Celestion Blue.

I'm still wondering whether to get a full Deluxe or even a low powered Twin, to be honest.

In any event thanks for taking the time out to respond to me!

Best, Pete.

If you're considering a low-powerd Twin, then you probably don't want a Ll'Bit'Ltd. I think I've got a head version of it, called a 'Gullah' at the time. Mine's only got one output xformer. It's got a very muscly & crunchy tone. I like it through a 2x12 with a pair of original P12Ns. It's not LOUD, but it IS Loud. All good... /jd
