I have one. I don't think you will regret it. :BEER I got it for recording but I'm tempted to play gigs with it. I did some tube swapping on it and now I'm going to do some speaker swapping just for fun, but it's just dandy as is. Tube swapping on a Champ circuit is so easy and fun, though.

I've had one for awhile now and love it. the 12 speaker is DEFINITELY the way to go IMO. It still has a lot of the "problems" the old Champs have (noisy trannies from humidity and flubby bass), but that's part of the charm. I play mine almost every day and I have many, many amps to choose from. Congrats on a great choice!

:AOK I`ve had mine about 3 years and love it! Drop in some nos tubes and had Ted Weber build a custom ceramic speaker[$90] 106db. Much louder, useable for small gigs.Sometimes I run it through a Pine cab w/ Weber 2x 12A150`s,awesome. Enjoy!

I don't have a 5112 but I do have a 518--same amp w/an 8" speaker. What else can you say it's a great amp. I love to just crank mine all the way and run my Nocaster through it, sounds just freakin' unbelievable, bet the 5112 sounds even better. We don't need no stinkin' tone controls!

I have a home-brew Champ clone and I put a 10" Fender Blue ALnico speaker in the stock cab. I've also heard the Vicky 5112 but I'd put a 12" Emi Legend 122* in it if you can find one (*they've been discontinued but Orange County SPeaker has some of the 20-watt blue-frames left. I just ordered another to keep in stock in case I blow one up)

Plus, now my Z28 has gone silent.

Is it flubby with single coils, or just buckers?

I have one loaded with a celestion blue. NO flub with either SCs or HBs. From the Stolling Rones to Lovin' Spoonful to Weezer to Allman Bros, this is a rock and roll amp!

awesome!

Victoria is one of the few amp companies that really gets me excited. The clips on their site are just incredible sounding.

I think a blue will wind up in mine, too.

More so with 'buckers in my experience. Don't let that worry you though, when I say "flub" I could just as easily say "classic tweed sound." Think Sticky Fingers-era Stones. I have no idea what amp Keef used around then, but that's pretty much the tone I get with my Victoria and a Les Paul.
