Trainwreck Clips

I thought this might be fun. I'm posting a couple clips, one is Geetarpicker [Glen]s Trainwreck Express, and the other clip is an amp i built, that Glen recorded [Thanks Glen!].Similar to the Ceriatone shootout
Still need to work a bug or 2 out on it,but still will be fun to know what you think of the 2 clips. You can put both clips up and play the same pharses one at a time to get more of an idea of the differences.
I'll post which one is what later.

Those are close..my little internal speakers aren't really catching the subtle tones though. No neck pickup action on the second...that is usually where you can pick up the difference...but lots of really nice sustaining feedback from the second clip.

I think the second is the real deal...but I could not really hear a difference.

I like the chording rhythm tone in the first clip, nice crisp definition, IMO. But on the leads the amp seems to run out of sustain early, like the gain is set lower.

I don't like the rhythm sound on the second one as much, it is comparatively dark, and almost muddy, but on the leads, it totally kicks ass. Really nice amp/guitar interaction sounds there. Sounds like it has more gain than the first clip. The cleans at the beginning are super nice on this one too.

I would wildly guess, that the second clip was the Wreck, and the first was the clone.

Both, as usual when we are talking Trainwrecks and good clones, sound pretty awesome. :AOK

I like the clean tones and the cranked tones better in the first clip. Seems more full tone. Just my opinion of what I like.....but the answer could save me thousands of dollars.

I like the tonal richness (more low end) of the first clip better, but I don't know Trainwrecks that well. A friend had one and I played it, but that was 20-25 years ago. The second one was more midrange heavy to me, so I didn't like it as much as the first, so it would just depend on your need. I'd say the first one was the Trainwreck.

I'm gonna say that clip 2 is the 'Wreck. However, I would be more than happy with either one of the amps in the clips. That clone (whichever one it is) does a pretty nice job stepping up to the Trainwreck.

Very nice - both of 'em. Thanks for the post.

#1 is the clone, and #2 is Glens Wreck. As i posted, i still have a couple bugs to work out. The amp just did not sing as it should for some reason,or would just not hold the notes.. something i will look at and figure out.
Plus Glens playing helped the most. At least now i know more of what needs to be done, and how to go about making it right.

Thanks Richie.......so what is the clone you built (kit?)? Can it be purchased?

that one was more the experimental amp. i've changed alot of parts and transformers on this one. I have built a few others. that amp was not really a kit. I did use the Ceriatone chassis, but that was about it. It has the perf board, and PVC caps.,solid wire etc. I wouldn't sell this one. I want to use it for an amp that i can change things ,and experiment with.
