Vibrato that sounds like the EH Wiggler

Whats up people,

I love the EH wiggler..Cool pedal. I am addicted to the Vibrato setting, however would like to know if anyone has used a different pedal that captures this vibe , but in a smaller footprint..running 9volts.

I have never used A vibrato pedal before, but mostly use it to aproximate Organ chording for Jazz.

Thanks for your input,
Ben

hey ben....

I have an EHX Wiggler and I am mostly a jazz player these daze... The Wiggler is definitely an incredible pedal, no way around that. I use it for the same things you do...that is comping in a jazz vein with a B3 feel. I haven't found a better pedal yet, but I'm thinking about trying a H&K Rotosphere on the used market (too expensive otherwise).

DOD vibrothang

It shares that phasery vibrato sound with the wiggler. Only problem is the DOD is not true bypass...and it is a helluva tone sucker when the effect is disengaged

You really do have to just put up with the Wiggler's size and psu, there's nothing to compete with it, imo...

The Line 6 Roto Machine is good if you are after Leslie type tones, or the Vox VibraVox if you are after vibrato/trem.

The Wiggler is pretty much IT for THAT type of sound though.

actually just replaced my EH wiggler with a BJF Mini vibe, which is based off of organ vibrato. Small footprint and runs on 9V. Works really well on fender rhodes piano too. Might be an opotion.

the old boss chorus ensemble (ce-1) has a great separate vibrato effect as well as chorus. definitely a killer 2 in 1!

I use my dls chorus-vib for these things and I think it's excellent,
plus it has the most beautiful chorus I've ever heard.

Wiggler is indeed a great tremolo/vibrato, but its size and the 12V AC makes it a bit un-practical...

I have tried lots of tremolos and my favorites are :

Frantone Vibutron
JAMpedals tremolo
Cusack tap-a-wirl
Cataline Bread Semaphore Tremolo

while not in the Wiggler's league, how 'bout the Marshall VibraTrem...similar effects, boss-size footprint, 9V, and it gets pretty good reviews for soundz

Maybe also the Marshall Regenerator...

Only thing I've found so far is the Rotosphere. The Whirligig might be worth a look too (haven't tried one myself but they sound good and are small). Otherwise I love the Wurl and Hamm settings on the Wiggler...and Looz too for that matter.

Reviving an old thread...because I love my EHX Wiggler and have been on a long quest to find something similar sounding but smaller and more speed controllable for live use.

I've just ordered (or bought here on the emporium actually) a Cusack Tap-A-Whirl. From the demo clips I've seen of it, it seems to have similar mojo as the Wiglgler has. So I hope it'll give me that vibe-ish, tremolo-ish swirl since it is smaller and can run on batteries and such.

i just got one of these, and i'm very happy with it. i've tried numerous true pitch vibratos - the pitch pirate, BYOC VB-2 clone, the Behringer...and the Marshall works well for my needs. it doesn't get extremely seasick, but for a subtle wobble, it's perfect.

Just got my Tap-A-Whirl tonight. So far, very impressed. Once the honeymoon is over I'll post a little review. But I think I've successfully found a replacement for the Wiggler. Tap-A-Whirl is very useable in live playing situations and sounds nice and warm.

could the wiggler be plugged into the courtesy outlet of a PP2+? Or will the DC/AC thing be an issue?

thanks,

I'm just kinda discovering the Vibrothang. Is there any more feedback you can provide on it? From the clips on youtube, it does sound like it can get that wobbly, vibrato that kinda remind me of an electric pianos vibrato/tremolo.
