Favorite current Production 6L6

I tried searching for this info on the forum but nothing came up. There are quite a few choices, Groove Tube Black Plate, Ruby, TAD, Winged C. What do you like and why ? Thanks

I like the Winged C, but I have only tried those and the JJ. The JJ were just a little more cold/sterile feeling to me. The Winged C has clarity and big bottom end, but still has a vibey feel. Power tubes are so nebulous and subjective though, they only make a slight feel, headroom and EQ difference to my ear.

I like Winged Cs, but I blew up a pair in my Super (5F4) so I'm back to JJs. If I can't trust them, I can't use them. I DID like the sound.

I've sold MANY Winged C and JJ 6L6s. For best tone, WC wins my vote in most amps by a slight edge. JJ is a little darker and "chunkier" sounding to me.

As for reliability, I find a lot more problems with the JJ during initial testing than I do with WC. That being said, after I weed out the bad ones, the long term failure rate seems to be similar for both types with WC having a slight edge.

Winged ''C" IMO, very nice 6L6. The JJ 6L6's are not bad though...

Winged C's are great and in fact thats whats in my Twin Reverb right now, the TAD tubes are nice as well (both the tall and short bottles) I have also had decent luck with the Sovtek's...

So far, TAD short bottles are my favorite, but I haven't tried the WingC
