Show Off Your Relic, Homemade Or Otherwise

I fall into the camp that likes a worn out looking beat up guitar.

Show off your fav. relic 'style' guitar and give a little history, did it occur naturally, or artificialy, factory or homemade.

IMO the worse they look the better.. No shame on this thread!

here's a shot of my EJ strat, the neck is an ebaby.

This is an 80's MIJ Tele Custom that was aged the old fashioned way. Lots of bar gigs. Spruced up with some Eldorado hardwear.

This doesn't show the relic job at all, really. I promise you, though, it's just terrible. There's FAKE buckle rash on the back, nicked paint around the edges, the hardware took an acid bath and overall it's just really disgusting!

I'm such a poser! I take it out and try to fool and impress people with it. I don't know how I live with myself! Maybe I should sell everything and take up finger painting.

Good idea. It's about time we had a relic thread around here.

I was going to take a picture of my relic to post, but my wife drove it to the store.

This picture makes the guitar look better than in real life. It's my '68 Standard. My right forearm removed the laquer from the top of the body the old fashioned way. Lots of playing, and hot sweaty gigs. There is no finish on the back of the neck, and the rosewood is well on its way to being scalloped. There is also a ton of nicks, gouges, and other character scars. It's my favorite guitar to play. I'll eventually have to find one that is comparable to it.
