Okay, I don't want Marshall gain, I want Marshall tonal structure in a pedal.......

What pedal can hep a pushed amp get in to that upper mid Kerrang type of tone? I am not talking about Toobscreamer upper mid, I am talking about cranked Marshall upper mid. For all I care, the pedal can be totally clean. I am looking for a pedal that will carve out the Marshally thing.......

Thanks,
Emee

What kind of Marshall? BOR is great for JTM 45 tones, but if you want JCM sounds try the latest version of the MI Audio Crunch Box. Just picked one up from a fellow TGP'er a couple of weeks ago and man, keerrrrannngggg for days... gets really clean on the low gain settings, too-- and the mids are there with room to spare!

From your description I'd also recommend the BoR. Great pedal.

A Barber Barb-EQ might work for you. It's an eq with volume, bass, mid and treble controls, a pull pot to simulate a bright switch, and a toggle to switch between Blackface, Tweed and British tone stacks. I've used it on the British setting to push a Super Reverb on 6 into more of a Marshall tone with great results.

+1 w/ BarbEQ... and adding a Barber Direct Drive for OD will definately be a good combo IMO...

I never owned a Marshall, but I've been running my Fender amp with an OCD - gain turned almost all the way down and the volume at unity. Give's the amp a different character that is in my mind more Marshall than Fender, in fact I rarely keep the pedal off anymore.

Menatone Workingman's blue. Not too gainy, warm, but more marshall voiced.

Higher gain, like JMP, JCM800 and beyond = Crunchbox

Old school with or without a little extra juice = Lovepedal COT50 or Purple Plexi. I've had a few COT50s and also had a PP. The PP really had that room shaking low end and perfect midrange like the old big boys. I think that one nails the tonal response, but it's not super high gain. If you're playing it into a dirty or semi-dirty amp, I think it'll get you there though. It's not bad through a clean amp either. I wish I had recorded some clips when I had it because it's so hard to describe.

If you can build, try the Runoffgroove Tonemender.

Otherwise, OLC Thor or Thunderchief
