Pickups to give a '79 Strat some 'life'?
Here it is, a bit dry, trebly...Recommend some pups to liven it up a bit!

.... So it's Lollar/Fralin so far...what I was hoping for! Does Fender/S.Duncan have something good to consider? I'm in Europe so I could find those locally... |

Got a '79 too. Even though I like low output pups, the '79 pups just never had any kind of character I could discern.
I went through lots-o-pups in that axe and I ended up with Fender Custom Shop Fat 50's. Overall, CS '54's are my favorite in most Strats, but the Fats worked in the '79. Check the Pup Tent threads at Fender Forum - great info in there. The top pick from that forum over time seems to be the CS 54's. |

I've gone through a lot of Strat pickups in my life, I stopped when I got the Suhr "FL" model. I have these in 2 of my Strats, and when I can afford it will put a set in me 3rd.
