Greetings from Leominster, MA

Hey everyone, just discovered this site through a friend. Just what I need, another website to be addicted to!!
To introduce myself: I've been playing for.... wait, that'll show how old a fart I am... let's just say a long time.

Been through a host of rigs... Pretty much a Marshall guy, though I've had others, namely Boogies and a Kitty Hawk. Favorite amp was a '71 Superlead that I stupidly traded in for my first Boogie over 20 years ago.

Main axe is a Gibson Les Paul, but I also have a Fender American standard Strat, Hamer Vector, Dean Baby Z (an early Zelinski guitar, not the assembly line crap they later made) Ovation Standard Elite and a host of others, acoustic and electric, that don't get played as much.

I've been full circle with effects... started off with stomp boxes, went to rack mounts in the 80's, to multi-effect/emulator floor boxes, and lately back to stomp boxes. Actually, I've quite simplified it the last couple of years... tuner, delay, wah-wah, amp.

Well, that's about it. Look forward to delving into the site!

Ralph

Stupidly traded is right!!

I met Ralph in the early 1980s when we both took a recording class at a local studio. For our final project, we recorded Ralph's band. I'll never forget the tone Ralph got by plugging his Les Paul straight into that 71 Superlead -- ****ing amazing!! I seriously coveted that amp for a very long time...and was shocked and saddened to learn years later it had been sold (and not to me!).

Welcome to the board, Ralph. Great group of guys here on TGP, with everyone sharing a common goal of obtaining great guitar tones.

-Bill

Hey, I work at Gordon Lasalle Music in Southbridge. There's one in Leominster, I'm sure you've been in there before. And enjoy this site, it's awesome!

Leominster, MA is where my Mom was born and raised. We lived for a while near Lowell when I was a teenager and we went to Leominster often for holidays and family get-togethers.

I remember it as a lovely town...

It's close to Fitchburg, yes? There was a big music store here, this would have been about '75, where I got my first nice guitar - a late 60's 335 - when I was in junior high school - Fitchburg Music, was it?

Welcome, Ralph!

I live down in Webster, just above the CT/RI borders. I played a gig up in your town last June at that "Stroll Back in Time" outdoor fun-for-all sponsored by your local businesses. It was supposed to be an "oldies" gig, but we stretched things far into the 70's with no complaints. Maybe you caught us in front of the jewelry store...
