Mike-

Bacchus is a "ghost builder" for Japanese lines like Moon basses. They also build under their own name. Mine is from the recently discontinued/changed vintage line. Basically a handmade, custm shop item.

The bass showed up today, and is easily one of the nicest Js I've ever played, and as good or better than any bass I've owned (which includes Newburgh Steinys, old PRS, Kubicki, etc etc). Just a knockout in every category - feel, look, ergonomics, and sonics. I took a gamble ordering unplayed from Tokyo in lightly used condition, and ended up with a great bargain. I'm really over the moon with this bass.

Great looking. They build nice instruments. I have a guitar of theirs.

Yeah, they do. Matte told me about them a few years ago, so I knew a bit about their reputation. I knew the bass would be decent, but I didn't expect it to be this good - a keeper for sure. I have a hard time putting it down, which is a good thing when your fretless chops are as rusty as mine. I really dig having a nitro finished bass, too.

Congrats! I've been considering getting a Bacchus J, being very satisfied with my Bacchus Lester, so great to hear it didn't disappoint!
