Does anything compete with a Deluxe Memory Man?

Memory Lane?
Visual Sound H20?
QUicksilver?

I have the DMM and H20, they are not really that similar.

it was a quickie read, but comparing the DMM to the T.Rex Replica, the Replica just had more of "my" features available at my fingertips. The DMM could probably approximate them if I fiddled enough, but the DMM can also lead you to those lo-fi wack job territories pretty quickly, none of which I use. What the Replica does it does soooo well, and that's in my comfort zone.

nothing sounds like a dmm. To me its just one of "those" pedals that everybody needs to have in their arsenal... like a good germanium fuzz or an 808 style pedal.

What aspect of a DMM do you consider to be its "signature"? In other words, on what basis would you judge this "competition"?

It's the only analog delay I've ever owned, but hard to believe anything else could sound quite as beautiful as the DMM...

Moogs Delay is pretty hard to beat. The 1 Second+ delay, loop, gain controls, voltage pedal controls- I upgraded to the moog from a keeley AD9/DD20 combo, though I still use the DD20 for its modulation delay the moog trumps allot of delays out there.

I actually a/b compared it to quite a few delay pedals..
Aqua puss, Dm2, Fulltone tape, AD9, DD3-6,20, Nova delay
DMM,Memoryman standard & my trusty ol' ibanez DM10.

the moog with PROPER tweaking can easily acomplish any of the tones of the Aqua puss, dm2, fulltone, ad9, DMM,MM, DM10, DD3-6.

The nova delay & dd20 are tonally not as great as the moog BUT feature wise have more capability and are both stereo in/out.

Moogs delay has a crisp analog warmth thats very hard to beat

The Boss RE-20 Space Echo is equally as awesome as the DMM. I own both. The RE-20 is a slightly different vibe, a bit more clarity, but they're not too far from each other.

I'm waiting to get one of those- I have it on order - DANM YOU ROLAND BACK ORDER!. anyways. The DD20 is the Pinnacle of boss/digital delay for me, so I would have to bet that the RE20 is a fantastic representation of the original space echo

I ALWAYS tap the tempo when using delay. How do you guys set your delay time on analog delays like dmm?

My Howard Davis-modded DMM was replaced by an EchoTap. Warm repeats, long delay times, tap tempo, 2 presets, no noise and no headroom issues.

I love it.

I replaced my DMM with a Memory Lane. No regrets. The caveat being that I don't use much in the way of modulation or feedback.
