Help Me Spend $300 On Nice Knockaround Cleans

I need a combo in the ~$300 price range for dragging around. I would like some nice cleans and reasonable headroom.

The obvious choice so far has been the Blues Junior despite its mixed reviews. Ive been trying to narrow down suitable competition and it seems like another good option is the Traynor YCV40 which Ive never seen or played.

Anyone have any additional thoughts?

Thanks!

I had a YCV 40. Good cleans for the money. Without the reverb, the cleans are comparable to a Fender. Not quite so spanky but still good. Reverb is a bit weak but usable - I'd go outboard if you have one. Drive channel is good for rock crunch and blues. No real searing leads tone in there. The amp really benefits from $50 worth of JJ tubes and a speaker swap but the stock speaker is OK. All in all a great gigging amp for $300 range they sell for.

Roland Cube 60 if you don't absolutely have to have tubes.

Also, the YCV50 has better reverb, but the cleans are a tad less sweet. I actually like the cleans on the 40 better than those on the Hot Rod Deluxe, etc.

I don't know if it would have enough headroom for you, but how about an old-school Traynor YGM-3? Hand-wired, killer-sounding, and dirt cheap.
