My xmas wishes...

1. I want a good little guitar for my 6-year old son Marc. it needs to be electric, be small enough for him, and stay in damn tune.
2. I want Knopfler and Willie Nelson to make a record together.
3. I want Alison Krauss and Vince Gill to make a full record of new material together.
4. I want Eric Clapton and Keb Mo to make an album together.
5. I want Will Ray and Keith Richards to make an album together. Now that would be damn wild.
6. I want Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton to make a full record together.
7. I want BB King and Buddy Guy to do a full album together as well. Just because it's good for the soul. And I hope that the Rev Al Green will guest star on a couple of tunes.
8. I want Billy Gibbons to record a solo, acoustic-only down home blues record. Dobro power right there.
9. I want Daniel Lanois to produce the next U2 album, like in the old days.
10. Oh yeah, and could I have peace on Earth, too? Or is that pushing it?

Nice list.

As for #1, those Squier Mini Strats actually aren't that bad. Change the nut and the tuners and you should be fine on tuning stability.

I actually have one of those mid-90s MIM Fender Duo Sonics on the way that I found for pretty cheap. I think it might be the perfect guitar for my 8 year old niece given the short scale (22.5"). We'll see...

Hey, you know what? If they'd do these records together, on a tight budget, without sterilizing every performance by overdubbing all over the place.

Let me see these clowns go into the studio with a well rehearsed band, and publish some first takes. Otherwise, I'm not interested.

Know what I want to see these guys do? Something on the par of Savoy Brown's "Street Corner Talking"

I'm tired of overproduced drizzle from guys who used to be good!
Sorry... had to vent

I think someone on TGP came up with this link the other day:

http://smallguitars.com/

Check out this one in their 7/8th size section!

I think I want a couple of these small guitars.

Pete

+1 on the mini Fender. I've got a couple kids I teach with them and they're perfect for them. Low enough action to fret and they sound like a full size real guitar, not some toy.
