ART MPA Gold 2 Channel Mic Pre
I've been looking into buying a pre amp, and since I can't afford to dish out so much money on a more expensive one, I was wondering if anyone has ever used the ART MPA pre, or has one. I KNOW that ART is not really a good company, but someone said that if you buy the pre and change the tubes out, it doesn't sound to bad.
Is this a waste of time, and should I just save up for FMR RNP? or what. Any thoughts, comments. Thank you.

ART is kind of cheap on the whole, but their MPA Gold, ProVLA, and ProChannel are all quite good.

I think the RNP is miles better though.

So instead of paying 300 for the MPA + Tube upgrades, I should save up for the RNP? It would probably pay off in the long run.

the RNP is definately better than the dual MP, if you look at the 3 art products I recomment, none of their 1U rack gear is on the list. The 2U, 2 Channel Gold MP I would put up against the RNP. Very different flavours, but I'd rank them close on the quality scale.
