Bogner Triple Giant Preamp...

Any idea how many Giant Preamps Bogner made before Hafler? Has anyone compared one of these with a Fish? Thanks in advance.

HAd a Hafler one right when they came out. Pretty decent. I found that an enhancer or heavy eq really helped bring it alive.
Too many years.

Here's a late reply: "Bogner U.S.A" was a four-way partnership that produced exactly 25 Bogner Triple Giants before Reinhold pulled the plug on that preamp and the partnership. There were mostly silverface and a few greenface TG models. The knobs on the face of most TGs were '80s pink and green aftermarket Strat "Vol." and "Tone" knobs. The preamp design was sold to Hafler (who turned the clean channel into a solid sate circuit) in order to free Reinhold from the Bogner U.S.A. partnership so he could design and sell his new "Fish" preamp and subsequent designs/products on his own in partnership with just one of the four former partners of Bogner U.S.A. The original hand-made pre-production prototype of the Triple Giant was built for a friend of Reinhold's using a two rack space project box, 4 breadboards and parts from a former Rivera Stage II Princeton.

The Bogner Triple Giant and Fish preamps shared similar clean and Brown channels. The Strato was a more open, bright and less gainy version of Brown, and the Shark channel had similar gain to the TGs Sharp. As a whole, the Fish was more refined sounding, but the TG had a raw-yet-girthy tone all its own.

Bumping for a little bit of knowledge.

I went to a music store which had a Hafler Triple Giant today and I saw 7 tubes in the amp (after one of the friendliest staff opened it up to find out if it was 240v).

I'm sure the clean channel is not solid state. Each channel seems to have 2 tubes, and 1 tube for the rectifier. So Loudest Guitar what gives? Is the info you gave legit?

If it's so, that would probably say that the Brown and Sharp channel is 3 tubed?

Info please guys!
Thanks!
