I'd just like to say that a Komet Concorde...

through a 68 Marshall style cab with Heritage Greenbacks, unattenuated, with all the knobs on 5 and in fast mode-

sounds like the most perfect rock tone ever.

Add Tubescreamer to taste and oh my god.

Loud though...

Dear God Help Me.

...Peter instigates another G.A.S. flare up for me. Early Marshall 4x12 has always been in the back of my mind. Now I'm diving in.

I would pretty much have to agree....I had one here for a few weeks en route to a buddy in Australia, ran it next to my Aiken Intruder and ÷13 RSA23 and my jaw was on the floor every time I fired it up. Family was out of town and I was left alone with these amps

You might want to add the Les Paul to that signal chain.

I have two early basketweave, pre-rola 4x12s and can vouch for the fact that they are worth EVERY DAMN DIME. I have not found an amp that doesn't sound better through them. They're utterly amazing...get one ASAP.

I can't imagine what a Komet would sound like through one, although I have really been thinking about picking up a Concorde lately.

How about some clips Pete?

Peter, man!! WTF?!?! Stop doing this to me!!! I've gotten two amps since watching your concorde videos, have played like two concordes since, I still am concordless in toronto, and I could of had TWO by now!!! I'm dumb. I'm getting one. Next amp is the concorde. When I played it at Ultrasound I just KNEW it was the best rock amp EVER built. Thanks though, you're cool! Peace out!

Don't rule out the Fuchs Train 45, same delicious tone, but a lot less money....

It's going to sound bigger 'cause you're moving more air.

Have you ever tried a well made detuned cab?

Lighter than a 4X12 to haul around, but properly done, you actually
can get a bigger sound than a 4X12.

Never heard of those FFTT but all I can say is...THANKS ALOT! Like I didn't have GAS issues before. I hope if I ever try one out, it hope it sucks because I don't need to have more cab purchasing issues.

I can get the speakers for a good deal, now I need to work on the amp!

I've been in love with Komet's since I played a bunch at Ultrasound two years ago. That was the same day I played a few Trainwreck's and a rare blonde EL34 Dumble through an all original '68 basketweave. Oh, the guitar was a real '59 cherry sunburst Les Paul. It was a stupid thing for me to do because it set the bar really high!

Fusionbear:The Train 45 is a GREAT amp. I loved the one I test drove a couple weeks ago. My only complaint would be that it is friggin LOUD. As we all know that is easily rectified with an attenuator or by whatever means you all use to tame beasts like this amp. The tone?? OMG - You know what the best thing about Andy's amps is?...the write ups and descriptions are spot on. There is nothing I have ever read about Fuchs amps that isn't blatantly obvious and true when you actually plug into it. To someone who is looking for a versatile and simply great sounding amplifier, you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't look into a Fuchs. I have a BlackJack 21 head that I am absolutely, head over heals, in love with. You know that whole "tone in my head" thing that we all have referenced? I have found mine by putting a Zendrive, Howie, or Ethos in front of my Fuchs. I am so relieved to not be on the hunt anymore. Thanks Andy, Alf, Robbie and Menatone for easing my crazed hunt finally. Throwing those pedals in front of a Dr. Z Galaxie or Maz will bring you to that place also. Dr. Z - you rock!!!

I want to check out a Concorde but I'm petrified I will love it and then have to have one, sell off gear, raise money, the whole ridiculous thing I do every time I find a cool piece. It's absurd but I love it. I think it's time I make the trip to Ultrasound.

I wonder what it would sound like with a Victoria Reverberato going into it. Always loved that Peter Green Supernatural tone.

If you have not tried the Vicky Reverberato unit then definitely try one if you ever get the chance.

I'll disagree in that I preferred the Concorde in the gradual mode..... In all honesty it is a fabulous sounding amp from what I remember but I have played a few amps comparrible for much less $. I think the Aiken Intruder I just picked up will give it a run for the money. Also the Tophat Emplexador. Pete have you tried the Concorde with Scumbacks?
