Anybody running a Shiva and XTC together?

Or are they too similar to be using both?

Not yet, but soon. I'm getting myself a Switcthbone for Christmas to do just that. I don't think that they're too similar at all. A 6L6 Shiva with my XTC??? To me it seems like the perfect combination of the best Bogner tones available. Can't wait for the sonic possibilities!

that would be my dream set up right there

5 channels of goodness

Shiva Clean, Shiva Dirty, XTC clean set to slight breakup, Plexi channel cranked or blue channel, red channel or blue channel

that right there are 7, good useable channels that are all different enough to use each throughout a good set, and you can switch between any 5 you want on the fly!!!!!! (i do cover stuff)

You could build a custom footswitch to put all 5 channels, plus loops and boosts, on the same footswitch, that wouldn't be hard at all except for building the metal housing and driling all the holes. You would even have each amps individual standby on the footswitch, so you could keep the switchbone in Y mode, and then use those standby switches for one or the other operation, and then leave both off to run them at the same time! that is like 3 amps right there!!!!!!. XTC plexi plus Shiva Dirty would be a great combo...maybe blue as well

Id run it through 4-4x12s for sure, rigged up so that each amp has a cab on both sides of the stage so that if I switch between one or the other the sound doesn't shift from left to right....I;m about to get a hard on thinking about this///

I'm about to take out a loan for this shiiite!!!!!

the only problem is, how do I use the same pedalboard for both amps simoultaneously.....im too drunk right now to draw that out.....

I'll initially use my Recto 4x12 and Bogner OS 2x12 while I'm experimenting with the options- NatDeroxL7 has some good FS ideas to explore as well. My first thoughts were Shiva cleans, OD channels for leads with the Blue channel dimed and Red on Plexi. I also want to mix and match to see how that configuration works Y'd. Hmmmm.... my 6L6 clean mixed with the blue channel? Could either be a total mess or absolutely huge!

I have done this using a Radial Switchbone and a Marshall 4x12 w/ Greenbacks. Fantastic!

While each of the channels are different they have the same fat sonic zeightgist. I have since moved to pairing the XTC with a Fuchs ODS 100 and this is like the ultimate amp swiss army knife to me as I could not get the Bogners to do the Dumbly sound which I am fond of.

I used to. It was a great combination. They are very different. I much prefer the cleans and just breaking up tones on the shiva and the XTC does the heavier stuff and leads wonderfully.
