Cabs for Ceritone Chassis

Aloha,

I apologize for not being more diligent squinting through the archives, if I missed a posted answer to my question.

Has any one matched Nic's chassis with a particular cab builder they liked and might recommend. I liked to use some of the familar configurations with non-traditional cabs and tolex/cloth. Little or some creativity and a somewhat pleasant demeanor would be a +

Thanks and a happy new year.
Mahalo,

A cold Island dog in California. hopefully it still gets warm here.

I am also very interested to find out who is building good cabs for a reasonable price for the Ceriatone amps. Anyone out there?

What is reasonable? I had Jeff Swanson build me a beautiful "Hylight" style cab for my Marwatt that I built from a Ceriatone kit. This was built on the standard sized 18 watt Marshall chassis.......... For obvious reasons, Jeff won't put the trademarked plates on his cabs. I did them as well as on my DR504 clone that Jeff built a cab for....... Not really cheap, but you won't get a better built cab period.

I went with a Trinity Amps headbox for my Ceriatone C-30 clone. Excellent price and service. Well worth the wait for it to come through Customs at the Canadian border.

Aloha T Dogg,

Too bad you didn't post a month or so ago. I was just in Honolulu for ten days....I could have brought you one of mine. I build custom cabs (and amps) here in Japan. I just did this one (his design and color choice) for a customer before going to Hawaii. It's a Ceriatone EF86TMB and 1x12. I don't ship outside of Japan so I would suggest calling Anthony at Reason....I think he changed his company name but I'm not sure. Good luck in your search.

Cheers,

I just had a friend who has Bob Burt build a cabinet for the Trainwreck clone that Ceriatone makes. He was really happy with the workmanship and has been bugging me to send Bob my Ceriatone heads.

Initially, I was looking around for someone to build the heads for my Express and ODS clones, especially since Nik's cabs are only available in black (Express in gold trimmings, ODS in silver trimmings).

I finally said, heck, what the hell, lets see what quality Nik's builder produced.

Will post up photos a bit later and you can take a look.

As was mentioned earlier, I don't think Reason Amps is the same Reason Amps it used to be. It looks like someone else is using the name now (not Anthony) and the new Reason Amps doesn't appear to make cabs, only a couple of amps. I don't know what the old Reason Amps may have changed their name to ...

Lots of Guys Out There Doing Them.

Thanks jmguitars for the kind mention. There are guys doing them other than myself no doubt. Here is a good link to a board that is run by guys who love the TW amps. A quick search in the trainwreck discussion area will yeild sources for you. I am sure you can find someone to do whatever you want cabinet wise. There are lots of choices out there and lots of great craftsmen.

A fellow craftsman who goes by the name "Distortion" on a few of the boards does the most beautiful work I have ever seen. I thought I was pretty handy with the wood until I saw some of his stuff... Off the charts beautiful. I am not sure he would want me posting his Email here so if you wish to contact him send me a PM and I will drop his mail on you. You can do a name search on the TW board and find pictures of his work.

You might like to contact RL Mott. He is a friend who does lovely work. I am not sure if he has done the ceriatone heads or not but I am sure he can build anything you ask him too.

Hope that helps you a bit.

Here are a few examples of heads I recently did. Two are made of cherry and one was the KF Memorial Amp made of ancient Kauri.
