Would you have your fav guitar autographed?

I had a chance to be involved with a concert/school assembly recently where Joe Bonamassa played. Admittedly, I love his playing. For what it's worth, he seems to be a very decent "regular" guy. In any event, at the end of the show I had my PRS with me and he was signing autographs. I'm not an autograph collector, but I said what the heck and asked if he'd sign my guitar. He put a nice, tasteful signature on the back of the headstock in the middle of the last four tuners--perhaps 2" x 1".

Anybody else succumb to this or am I alone in having my guitar scribbled upon?

PS - I'm 49.

I kind of doubt that I'd get a guitar autographed. Hard to say though. It's not like I usually have a guitar with me or anything. I just can't picture myself asking someone to sign my guitar.

Billy Gibbons does some cool signatures though, so maybe.

I've had cavity covers autographed before then shot clear over them.

Not something I'd imagine myself doing.

If I had a gold strat, I'd have Dick Dale sign it. If I had a Les Paul, I'd have Les Paul sign it. I have an SG, so I guess I'd ask Angus Young to sign it if I saw him.

When I saw your thread title my first reaction was no way would I ever get my favorite guitar autographed. Then when I read your post and realized you were talking about Joe B., who happens to be my favorite guitarist, I changed my mind. As long as the autograph is in a discrete place, Joe B. can sign any of my guitars.

Not for me. I wouldn't even have Les Paul sign my Les Paul. An extra control plate or pickguard yeah, but not the guitar.

If I ever had anyone sign either of my guitars, it would likely be on the pickguard. I might cry if someone wrote on the actual finish of the guitar. Call me a pansy.

I would offer my girlfriends boobs up for an autograph signing before I let anyone scribble on a guitar that cost me a few grand.

No

But I had my skis autographed by one of the top freeskiers in history. I was pretty stoked about that.
