Noisy Pick Guard Help

Pick Guards Are Plastic Right? How Come When I Touch My Brand New (well...9 Months Old) Epiphone Casino Pickguard I Get A Buzzing Sound Like Some Kind Of Grounding Issue? I Took The Damn Thing Off And Problem Cured. But I'd Like To Keep It On If Possible. Any Clues?

Rub it with one of those dryer sheets, this is a dry time of year and static builds up, although it's usually a pickguard with pickups and electronics mounted.

Thanks Rosewood I'll Try That. I Figured It Might Be Static But Can Figure Out How Its Translating Through The Pick-ups Since The Gaurd Is Independent From Any Electronics.

If that doesn't work you could use some copper tape on the back and ground it some how to the pickup but it's strange to happen to that type guard.

Static electricity is inducing hum into your pickups. The back of the pickguard should have grounded foil on it. Not sure why all makers don't do this...

Yeah. The best thing to do is get some of that aluminum foil tape and ground it to the bridge. Not sure how much you need to do. I'll bet not much. The last time I had it done, the tech lined the whole pickguard with it. It also cuts down on hum somewhat.
