What do you guys think of this LP?
I think I'm ready to upgrade from an Epi LP to a Gibby. I'd love a flame top, but at $2K, it's not going to happen. I thought about going used, but I want a new one that I can age myself, if that makes sense.
My local store has this Studio in classic white, which they just got in, and they will give it to me for the pre-price increase.

Go for it!!!! My first LP was an Epi, it was a pretty nice guitar, IMO, but it didn't hold a candle to the Vintage Mahogany LP Studio I have now.....

It's a sharp guitar. The white studio is the only Studio I like other than the Gary Moore which sells for $2K used.

I was looking over the Gibby - the bridge, saddles, etc. are much more precisely designed. There's a lot of play in my Epi's hardware. It's the little things - but lots of little things - that separates the Gibby's from the others IMO.

Love it...got one too!
Mine aged great...although I don't have pics currently ![]() That alpine white will turn to an aged yellow over time. Lots of play, gigs, smoke and sun will do it! I did add a light weight tailpiece, RS premium wiring, after market pickups, etc. Mine has gold hardware and an ebony fingerboard. Looks like that one has nickel/chrome and a rosewood fingerboard...I like!

I was looking at the new white studio a few days ago...they are a classy looking axe. Make sure you love more the way it sounds too!!! What is the pre-price increase figure?

I have an '89 studio in Black w/chrome hardware (has dots instead of traps) and I wouldn't sell this thing for a $Million. I don't know if it's my bias, but I feel like my LP studio is heavier and feels "put together better" than the new Studios.
I bought it from a Harmony Central cat sometime in 2001 for $600 -- best $$ I have spent yet on a guitar. |

If you like a Bigsby, it's a cool deal as the Antiquities is a very nice upgrade.

You can't go wrong with that. I've always liked the white. It will be a big step up from the Epiphone.
