Played a strat with those pickups at NAMM, I'm a Gibson guy, but was trying out his 4 knob compressor, The strat sounded great even without the compressor, actually have told some friends to check them out.....he may be on to something

but of course use your own ears.....

I'm bumping this one, because I'm considering trying a set.

Randy, do you have any idea what set was in the strat you tried?

They have vintage, "neo-vintage" and "modern".

more info please

I wonder what makes them different ? I see the circuit board but I'm not sure how that makes them different or better.

I also tried the Keeley pickups at the NAMM. They had the "Vintage" and "Modern" set up in two strats. The Vintage had a more traditional Strat
sound with glassiness. The Modern pickups were considerably hotter in the mids and louder.

The Neo-Vintage I think are one's you can have Custom Wound to your own specs.

$299 for a set of custom wound Strat pups??? I think Fralin is still charging $220 a set? These could be the best Strat pups ever, or just end up being the flavor of the month someday. I would love to try a set.

The "Neo-Vintage is like the vintage set, but with A5 magnets instead of A2. The "Tiffany Select" is the custom set.

Expensive, but I'm intrigued, mostly because the Keeley boxes I have are so good. Still, I think I'll wait and see what kind of opinions float to the surface as time goes by.

I tried them at NAMM also

both sets through a Mesa Lonestar
for starters, NAMM is not the best place to sample
pickups, lots of background noise, not much diff
than trying to sample them in a Guitar Center on
a Saturday afternoon

However you can probably get a good enough idea

my first impressions were, nothing new here
not sure what he could have done different, I have
sampled probably every aftermarket pickup
but nothing standout, or must have

Neither set grabbed me at all, but I will try to give
a 2nd chance in a better setting

didn't like the $299 thing either for custom winds
I have had Fralin wind me custom set, he makes
them exactly the way I asked for $220

Actually the odds of me buying a set are slim

but I do have a few of his pedals which are quite good
