ipod recording...is anyone working on a decent stereo mic/preamp?

Ok... I know whats avaialable now for recording a live stereo recording onto the newer ipod classics. The sound quality is pretty bad considering.

Are any pro audio or other companies working on a decent solution for using the ipod as a recording device? I would love to be able to use my ipod for stereo recording live shows, practices and jams, but the stereo mic.preamp combos that are curently available really suck.

It would be great to have a stereo mic/preamp combo that is small , noise free and easy to use, however even just a mic preamp that interfaces with the ipod would be a start as there are plenty of good quality stero condensers available.

I don't know if there's anything for ipod, but those places would be your best bet on finding out.
