Why Weber Signature Speakers cost less?

I have read a bunch of posts that say they are great speakers, but I am curious as to what the differences are that make the Sig speakers about half price of his other speakers.

Thanks,
J

From what I understand weber has another speaker manufacturer mass-produce the signature speakers to his specs. The regular higher-priced weber speakers are hand built in the weber factory, and I'm guessing there's a higher level of precision and quality with those.

Also possibly virtually no advertising costs and dealer network costs to pass along?

Do you know if they are still USA made?

Yes, assembled in USA, not sure if all the components are domestic though, tolerances not as tight (gap)...
Fantastic speakers for the price.
