Comfy's HOG vs. POG Clips Thread

Okay I've posted this on a couple other forums and thought someone here could use it too.

Right now I have both a HOG and a POG so I'm taking the opportunity to do some clips and a thorough review comparing the two.

The big review will come later but I've got plenty of clips done tonight.

----------------------------------------------------------
This first one features the HOG covering bass and organ duties. Lead guitar is the Silver Kiss into my Zoom G2 direct in the soundcard. No post anything other than some echo on the lead track. If you hear any latency issues, sorry.. my PC was acting dumb. Bonus points if you can name the tune I'm playing.

Clip #1: The HOG Song

-----------------------------------------------------------
Alright, next clip.

Basically I turn this:

Into this:

Well, not really but whatever. It sounds cool.

First I play just the little keyboard on a stock organ preset. After that I turn on the HOG, Silver Kiss, and SCH-Z. There's a little bit of reverb from the Holy Grail on both parts.

Enjoy!

Clip #2: HOG Organ

------------------------------------------------------

Next clip is the same settings but run through the POG. All the sliders are about even all the way across. You can really hear the detuned function on this one.

Clip #3: POG Organ

-----------------------------------------------------

HOG Filter

Guitar > Silver Kiss and Pink Flesh > HOG > Echo Park

Filter controlled by expression pedal.

Clip #4: HOG Filter

------------------------------------------------------

HOG Wah!

This is using it after distortion. Haven't tried it before. Really filtery. I dig it.

Clip #5: HOG Wah

-------------------------------------------------------

HOG Freeze + Gliss

This can be hard to get right. It takes a bit of practice. I still don't have it down completely.

HOG, SK and Echo Park in this one.

Clip #6: HOG Freeze + Gliss

--------------------------------------------------------

Comparing Bass Tones

First is the POG then the HOG. Guitar is a Tele on the neck pickup. It sounds farty through my $10 speakers I'm stuck with at the moment so I don't know how it'll sound to you.

Clip #7: HOG vs. POG Bass

--------------------------------------------------------

HOG Whammy Test

Too much fun with this one.. especially at the 2:00 mark.

Tele > SK/Top Fuel > HOG > DMM (I turn on a vibe at some point towards the end)

Clip #8: HOG Whammy

----------------------------------------------------------

More clips coming as I record them. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

On Clip #3 all the octave sliders were 3/4 of the way up. The filter slider was a little over halfway I think on mode 1. Volume 1/4 of the way up.

On Clip #7, everything was down except the sub octave which was all the way up. The volume and filter sliders were in the same place as the organ setting.

They all sound awesome!

Bottom line: which is better?

Can one do the other, but not vice versa? Do they cost the same? Are they the same size?

*sorry to bump this up but*

Would like to know which do you think does organ sounds better?

What are the main differences in the POG and HOG.

Can the HOG do what the POG can do?

I really want the HOG for it's freeze functions but also want the great detuned setting on the POG..

Thanks!

So which is preferred? Do they sound similar? Is the POG just as good minus the extra features?

Which is better? And would you recommend owning both?
