I hope this honeymoon does not end (esquire content)

Hi TGP, i know i'm in the honeymoon phase with my new esquire, but JEEZ these things are sweet! why does this beauty sound so good, and have such range with just the one pick-up? My other teles/nocaster don't sound the same with just the bridge pickup. not sure why. I almost feel like I have MORE control over the tone. Super happy so far with my latest guitar. So simple, tasty/subtle closet classic vibe, (nice job with the checking CS folks!) ...Go get yourself an Esquire! GAS is the best :BEER

here's some pics: http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/a...jacat/esquire/

Esquires are the shiznit, and yours is a fine one

+1 on not simply sounding like a Tele on the bridge pickup. I'm a believer that the lack of the neck pickup really frees up the strings. I had my Tele converted to an Esquire for a while. I think it's time to go back!

I love my Old World Esquire-type guitar. It is so fun to play and sounds huge and open.

Here is what i think of an Esquire;change my Tele to an Esquire. Antiquity in the bridge. See my name, Esquires are the bomb and I prefer them to Tele's. M@2, do a search on Esquires here or the FDP if you haven't heard what makes an Esquire have "that" sound.

I never EVER thought I could EVER like an Esquire as I'm first a strat player primarily but second didn't think I could like ANYTHING with only a bridge pickup.

Recently a friend of mine (Guitarzonedano) bought a '59 CS Esquire Relic which I promptly said "no thanks" to playing it. However after he plugged it in at his guitar store and gave it two strums I was like "HOLY Sh**!!!!!! I was amazed at how big one pickup in one guitar could sound. Very nice.

Unfortunately (but fortunately) after 4 days of owning this beauty he found out he was going to be a daddy and has sinced freaked and is selling it (I think its FS on TGP). Too bad but nevertheless a SWEET guitar that I NEVER that I'd appreciate.

Having that tone pot out of the circuit in position 1 really shows you the load the pots put on, even when full up. Pretty amazing.

Yah, I figured the "less is more" approach is part of what makes these sound so direct and full. and the tone knob gets more use for me on these. I even use the dark setting, gives a cool dynamic when switching within a song. Ok, I'll stop gushing about my esquire now : )

Real nice Esquire m@2!

As far as the honeymoon thing, when I put together a Partsquire, that was all I played for about a month. By now I'm back to playing the 1st Parts Tele I ever put together. It can't beat my Esquire's vibe, or the sound of it's Antiquity Broadcaster pickup, but my 1st Parts Tele is pretty good in it's own right.

I liked my first one so much, I converted all my Teles. But I use a modified wiring for the third position, which is an .0047 cap
