What's an MXR Distortion + Script Logo worth?

Hey Guys,
I'm looking to sell an old MXR Distortion Plus script logo pedal on e-bay (or here) but I have no idea what it is worth. I know it's rare, and I know people love them but I can't find one for sale anywhere to compare it to. Any idea? I could just throw in on E-Bay and see what happens but I'd like to make sure I get a fair shake on it.

Thanks.

I have an old one from around '77. It's actually a block logo but it must be from the transition period because it's all hand-wired on a plain board. It sounds awesome but it's a tone sucker, so when I get some cash freed up I plan on having Analog Man true-bypass it for me.
I remember reading somewhere about the script logo ones and (don't quote me here) I think they are going for around $150. If I were you I would hang on to it and have it true-bypassed as well. Unless you hate the way it sounds, I think that would be your best bet. It will only go up in value and I think the market for them is low right now, but like I said, I'm not 100% sure on this. Great sounding pedal though.

A quick completed items search on the bay (it's your friend!) reveals they range from $150 to $320.

Yep, I saw a couple go on ebay in the $220 - $250 range, but it was a couple of months ago.

Wow, I guess the market's gone up on them. Makes me feel better about the hand-wired block logo one I have. Love that thing!:AOK

I know I may offend some people but I had an old MXR script logo Distortion + way back when and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I must add, however, that I never really got much into metal and so that pedal just reminded me of Randy Rhoade's intro tone on "Crazy Train" which, although not a bad song, just sounds like a train rushing by or something.

The old Distortion +s are cool pedals. Buzzy? Yes. Shrill? In certain contexts, perhaps. I have a very soft spot for these little boxes, as a script D+ was my very first pedal (used to jack the front end of a 15-watt, solid-state Univox amp). I later learned to truly love what this little screamer does when I got my first Marshall 4-holer. If you go easy on the drive, there's actually a lot of cool, saturated fun to be had.

To be honest and fair, I must add that I was a very inexperienced player at the time I had my Dist+ and I'm sure I was most likely running the gain pretty high so that probably was a huge factor in me not liking the pedal. I remember getting the tip to run the gain on my old big box Rat real low and cranking the volume instead and it was a revelation not to mention sounding so much realer and sonically superior.
Still, I'll never get used to that "Crazy Train" intro. I always wonder how much better that very cool riff would have sounded with a thicker, fatter tone instead of that shrill racket that surrounds it. Nothing against Randy Rhoades. He was such an incredibly gifted player and I would have loved to see where he would have gone with his playing. I always thought he was so much more musical and tasteful than Eddie VH.

In case anyone was curious I got $160 bucks for it. A mint condition version went for $540.
