Why are Klon Centaurs $800?

On ebay there going for 800!

Are they THAT good? Or is it over priced/ over hyped like dumble?

They are 325.00 new. I just exchanged E mails with Bill F. and he is not taking orders for about a month due to a serious parts shortage.

So thats the reason for the big e bay pricing. Supply and demand.

Im willing to pay about 400.00 for one but not more. They are not a 600.00 > 800.00 pedal.

I have used one for about a week.

Just buy one direct from Bill and wait thee 12 weeks. It's worth it. I love mine and can't imagine gigging without it.

I bought a Gold Horsie new about 7 years ago for about $320. Sold it on Ebay last year for $725. It was an ok pedal but I never really bonded with it. Real glad I sold it! Very overated for the average player. I found plenty of more versitale pedals with the $405 profit I made.

I keep waiting for the day folks start listing the original US made "Vintage" Monkuses for $250. It will happen ... it'll happen. And when it does, I got two that will be heading to Ebay. LOL!

Of course, I have already seen this on my local CL --> "Vintage Crate VC50 Combo Amp. THE ORIGINAL THAT STARTED IT ALL!"

I've often wondered that myself. However, there is a market for everything. I sold some old heavily used Philips tubes for $400. They came stock (free) in an amp. My new tubes sounded better.

I also sold two stock Gibson pups for $180 on the 'bay a few weeks ago. I expected $80, and only needed $100 to cover the new pups.

Also with the DD-7 coming out, it's probably time to flip one of my DD-5s. $85 on CL, probably $150+ on ebay.

People are crazy over gear man.
