If we all buy Fractal Audio Axe-FX, does the Gear Page end?

i for one am not sold on the the axe-fx. I have yet to hear a good metal / chunk tone from it, sounds like it's for all the low gain hipsters. imho.

it should be fun to see how it all plays out. Just as fun to go back and look at some peoples posts how they "found the perfect amp" and then 10 amps later, proclaiming this is gods gift to the guitar world. I guess now would be the wrong time to get into the pedal / amp business

Hard to tell from just clips ..... .... hard to tell with any amp. It really is a pretty amazing thing.

I had one for a short time. On the plus side, it is very versitile and is great for the cover band or session musician who needs alot of differing sounds at his fingertip. It didn't work for me because I am a high gain guy and enjoy the chime tubes give me. Modelling still isn't quite there yet in my opinion but its time will come.

Not interested in modeling. I want fun. Keep it simple. I feel more and more strongly about this the more I play. Effects are awesome, but I just want a stomp box or a few with some knobs and no presets or menus or any of that.

Now I know that many have professional requirements that make this sort of equipment really appealing. And some just love it. Heck, many may find it tons of fun. But for me, the fun is in the simplicity of the easy stuff.

Nope.

You need to get a D'Pergo, Gustavsson and a Mac, too.

Impossible to make serious music w/o any of these.

No, because the Axe-FX Ultra owners could talk down to the owners of the regular model.

No...we 'd still have to argue about the best form of amplification (FRFR powered monitors, SS or tube power amps), speakers, cables, voltage regulators, foot controllers, etc.

It's endless no matter what your preamp preference...GAS doesn't care if you like tubes or digital better even if the subject sends you into "fits of conniption" (a phrase my grandmother loved to use).

The madness continues. I am not a flavor of the month kinda guy. The first hyped gear that caught my attention was the v-stack. I recall that a few of our most notable former and current members joined TGP at the same time this pedal hit the ground running. From then forward I lurk on the flavor of the month threads, observe the commotion, take notes, and enjoy the show. It's commerce baby, with liberal doses of puffery, and always amusing.
