So I am getting a JamMan...

... anyone has one?

I have been wanting a looper for a while, and well... a JamMan is on its way, or will be shortly.

Experience, feedback, ideas, etc... it's all welcome.

Thanks

Don't know abou the JamMan but I just got one of those Boss loop pedals and I am having a blast. The drum patterns alone keep me busy for hours.

I've had one for a while. Great practice tool. It has 10 backing tracks on it from the factory you can play too - it's not really mentioned in the docs.
It takes a little practice to get the loop start/stop timing down so be patient. I got the footswitch for it, and I hardly ever use it since I don't play out with it. I use it to loop a chord progression then solo over it. It can do much more than that if you put some time into it - I haven't done that, which says more about me than the device I guess.

I want to use it mostly to practice, but I am also interested in potentially using it with other players. Should be fun.

On the subject of the boss loopstation. I have an RC2 and can't figure out how to play a recorded loop once you've stored it. Can anyone help me out with this?

Sorry to move off topic somewhat.

mine was a tone killer so I couldn't keep it on my board (defeated the purpose of having it)

is one (boss loopstation v. jamman) better in terms of tone suckage? does the tone suckage include when the looper is turned off?

I have a Boss Loop station, in a Dutch Magazine I've read the designer should be shot...

well thats a bit steep but I agree, it is not easy to use if you want some more than only chords as a Jam station.

I just sent mine back today but that's because I have a Boomerang and for live playing with a loop which I'm brand new too...the Boomerang feels better - for me. The JamMan was cool though & I definitely recommend getting the extra footswitch if you're going to hang on to it.

Boss has all of their manuals online. You have to sign up (it's free) to the backstage pass thing on their site.
I just opened it and saved it if you want me to email it to you.
Shoot me a PM with you email address and I will send it out.

Adrian

I've had a JamMan for a couple of years now. Picked it because of the CompactFlash data card. Had the usual issue, initially, of getting the stop point right. My tip is to hit stop on the "one" of the next measure. That generally works pretty well.

It does affect my tone but I wouldn't call it a "tone killer". My complaint is that it's not true bypass. I'd like the input level control to only come into play when recording and have it cut out of the circuit when in playback mode.
