Dunno - I bought mine from him yesterday.
Did you select EMS shipping as well?

I already wrote to Mike P. / Analogman yesterday to see if he can give the Hi-Cut mod a shot on this pedal... hoping he writes back soon with the agreement to try!

Whats a hi-cut mod? And seriously this is not to be a smart butt at all but... why have the plans to mod the pedal before you hear it? "It aint broke dont fix" kinda thing.

Im interested in seeing the anolog setting.

Agreed. I love that everyone here automatically assumes that everything can be better with boutique mojo treatments.

I dont think so. Everything seems to be straight up quarters, no dotted eighths or anything like that.

Because I HAVE the Hi-Cut mod on my DD-6 currently, and I find the unmodded digital repeats to be sonically offensive and completely unuseable without the Hi-Cut mod. No one is automatically assuming anything therodeo... I speak from experience.

I'm not that into the analog or modulated modes as I'll hardly ever use them. Neat tricks. What I am interested in is the 40 second looper built in! To me, that's the selling point. A DD-6 with a 40 second looper would have been good enough for me. But, it needs that Hi-Cut mod to make those sterile repeats useable for me.

Whoops - and to address Dan's question: the Analogman Hi-Cut mod... a mini 3-way toggle switch is installed on the faceplate of your Boss delay. With it you can select "Stock" repeats, Slightly rolled off highs, or More rolled off highs. The rolling-off affects the repeats only, and they do not get progressively darker. It's a kickass little $60 mod that turned my DD-6 from something I was going to sell into something that's been on my board for 3-4 years and has kicked off a number of other delays.

-Ben

I herd dotted 8th notes. as well.

I have read if you point the delay time STRAIGHT UP and then tap in whole notes it will give you dotted 8th.

Wouldn't the analog mode pretty much be the same as the high cut mod? It might be cool to have different levels of cut available or even a knob to adjust the roll off, but I would give the analog mode a shot as it's pretty good on the DD-20.

Nope. Totally different.

I've had analog emulating digital delays (and analog delays!) and didn't bond with them. Repeats get darker, smearier, midsier, nosier until it's a wash. The Hi-Cut mod only does that: takes a bit off the highs on the repeats - and not progressively more per repeat. That's it. Doesn't add noise, increased darkening and smearing, etc. Love it! That said, there's a place for analog emulation, and since it's in the DD-7 I'll certainly play with it. But the best sounding / most useable delay for me over the past couple years has been the DD-6 with the Hi-Cut mod. Hence why I'd like that mod done on the DD-7!
