If I remember correctly, it is a little bigger than an MXR box. Sorry, I don't really know about the BYOC boxes.
It's a small pedal though. Here's a pic of my old one in my hand to give you an idea about size.

Before I bought one, I emailed Ryan from Dr. Scientist. He said:

"Tremolessences are about 4.4" L x 2.4" W x 2" T, same as a typical MXR pedal."

However, in case you didn't notice, the jacks are on the top, not the sides. Hope that helps.
