what is everyone using for patch cables?

I am going to lock in my board. It actually has not changed in 8 months...

I need some good patch cables, and torn between getting really good ones, or going withe the lava man kit.

If I go all in, I'd go for the Vovox and wait another few months to get the cash. If I want to go the non vovox route, I will most likely go the solderless route.

I am handy with a soldering iron now, and would be open to making my own, but would do this if I can get a good cable, and save some cash.

I have spent more than I care to on gear, and for some reason can't get excited about buying patch cables, can some experts (Lava man, etc) point me in the right direction?

All I know is what I've had and what I've got. From Dimarzio to George L's and now I'm runnin' Evidence Audio. Do they make a difference? Yep. Is there a difference in price? Yep. Do you get what you pay for with cables in general? I think so. Did you get them from Lava? Yep

I use the Canare from Lavaman and noticed an immediate difference from the George L's I was using before. The George L's seemed too bright for me...one might say brittle..?

I would have to argue that this is very dependent on your guitar/rig. I happen to use George L for this very reason. Your right, They are on the brighter side, making it a plus for my rig which is somewhat rich and at some settings, a hair flabby..they add some spike...curious to know what immediate difference was heard?..I might wanna try these...

Lava ELC and right angle plugs I installed myself.

I was using George Ls but I found that with my rig the ELC sounded way better.

I've been using George Ls for some years without any trouble or negative effect that I can report. If you are careful about cutting the ends there aren't any problems. Not saying there isn't better out there... but that's kind of the deal... there's ALWAYS better stuff out there. It has little to do with making music, however.

i too have been a George L's buff for a while. i like em. they're easy to put together once you get the hang of them and sound just as good as anything i've been priviledged to try out. if these other cables are as good as everyone says they are i will eventually have to switch over, but i've got like 30 Gls on my board right now, and am not looking foreward to the cost of changing it out.
